PVC or Wooden Fence Panels?
When it comes to picking fence panels, the first thing to decide is the material you want – and that’s before you even begin debating the design!
The most common two material used in fencing panels are PVC and wood. Each has its advantages (and of course, disadvantages).
Wood
Wooden fencing is generally more decorative and so, more popular with those who are going for the aesthetics! It’s also more eco-friendly to produce wooden fencing (through sustainable forestry) than it is to produce PVC panels. If pricing is a factor in your buying decision, wooden fencing might be a more favourable option too – as a basic wooden fence panel can often prove to be cheaper than a basic PVC panel. However, wood rots. This means that the life of wooden fence panel is shorter than that of PVC and they often require maintenance to get the maximum life out of them.
PVC Fencing
PVC panels are, on the whole, less decorative than wooden ones and offer a more functional option, rather than aesthetically pleasing. However, despite a sometimes higher initial purchase cost, they last much longer than wooden fencing panels and require far less ongoing maintenance. However, PVC isn’t particularly eco-friendly to produce and so for the environmentally conscious, it might not be a particularly good option!
Irrespective of the material you decide upon in the end, choosing a reputable supplier should mean you have plenty of choice in either range!
